Introduction
Life is like climbing a mountain; tied around your waist is a trapeze artist’s net—which acts as a springboard—so that every time you fall, you’re protected and automatically propelled to resume the climb, a little higher up.
The mountain is sometimes a metaphor.
About the album
*Ortónimo* stands out for the way it presents and concludes the reflections developed over the first ten years following the writing of the first lyrics intended for this musical format. It also serves as an introduction to *Divagações* from Diogo’s perspective as a creator, showing the evolution—over the course of those ten years—of the names that gave shape to the exhibition.
Time—never disorienting, but a source of disorientation—is the central axis, the theme, the pillar. The foundation of the work.
Love is a source of inspiration (!), the main driving force behind the clarity that allows us to live intensely, for, as Florebal said: “… And another flash of lightning, in the distance, is already bursting forth!”
Pain—inherent—not only through the weight of words, but also through the weight of decisions made along the way during the ascent—is the balm, the metronome of love-hate that brings serenity.
Life, our mistress, makes her presence felt, developer the impossibility of remaining indifferent to this, as well as to each of its elements at the moment they reach their climax.
Ortónimo is the first person, the third person, and multiple people within the infinite personal universe of creation.
Ortónimo is (!) Diogo, the author of “Days of Digressions During an Excavation,” who, over time, has found solace in a love that suffers but still loves to love.
May our ears connect our hearts.
