Community Development
Cinzas, Pó e Mar _ a performance

Synopsis
Presented at the Funchal Book Fair, *Ashes, Octopus, and the Sea* a combination of poetry, sound art, video, live music, and written texts created during the artist residency that took place in Madeira.
This initiative highlighted a process that was developed by paying close attention to the local landscape and in which the community participated.
Text
The performance was not intended to recreate the residence. It was meant to He tried to extract everything that was left of it.
Every word, every sound, and every moment of silence evoked the encounters, workshops, walks, conversations, and landscapes that gave rise to this production. The stage became a gathering place, where the community, the guest artists, and the audience shared the same journey.
Nothing that happened that night could have happened if there hadn't been people there beforehand.
Process
This show is the result of a two-month artist residency in Madeira.
The show brought together elements developed throughout this period—original texts, writings from the community, audio recordings, videos, live music, and performances—while maintaining the collaborative spirit that characterized the entire creative process.
